is pleased to announce Dennis Patrick Flannery
as its new Executive Director
RICHMOND
– VHTA’s Chairman of the Board, Graeme
Bisdee, announced today that Dennis Patrick Flannery
will become the Executive Director of the Virginia
Hospitality & Travel Association (VHTA). The
VHTA represents over 1800 tourism related businesses
throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Dennis has spent nearly all his adult life in Hospitality,
starting with Marriott in 1983 after graduation
from the University of Maryland (Economics ’83).
In 15 years with Marriott, he served as Restaurant
Manager, Lounge Manager, Catering Manager, Banquet
Manager, and Director of Field and Hotel Sales at
the Richmond Marriott from 1993-1999.
He opened The Homestead’s Richmond Regional
Sales Office in 1999, and is Director of Regional
Accounts. A member of Hospitality Sales and Marketing
Association International, Chapter of Virginia’s,
since 1997, he has served on the Board, Committees
and as President in 2000. He has also been a member
of VSAE since 1993, and has served on the Board
of Directors, as well as Chair of the Associate
Advisory Committee.
Dennis will be introduced to the VHTA membership
during our Quarterly meeting at the Stonewall Jackson
Hotel in Staunton on September 25th and 26th. In
the meantime, join all of us in welcoming Dennis
and wishing him the very best.
Bisdee extends his heartfelt thanks to Lynne Lochen,
her Search Committee, and members of the Executive
Committee whose hard work and diligence made this
selection possible. To Randy Higinbotham for his
time and dedication while serving as interim Executive
Director.
